Nominations Open for the Eclipse Proclaim Personal Injury Awards

Nominations have now opened for the third annual Eclipse Proclaim Personal Injury Awards. The search is on again for the personal injury industry’s top professionals and the deadline for entries is Monday 6th September.

The awards, which have firmly established themselves as a highlight of the industry calendar, are recognised for helping to bridge the traditional partisan ‘claimant/ defendant’ divide. The 2010 awards programme will recognise and celebrate the excellence of individuals and organisations across the whole of the personal injury claims sector; from solicitors and barristers to insurers, rehabilitation providers and claims management companies.

The awards are acknowledged for their role in identifying high standards of practice and inspiring others to emulate the achievements demonstrated by those who have been shortlisted as well as further encouraging the industry’s self-regulation. Nominations are invited from individuals and companies working across the entire range of services within the field. The awards will culminate in a prestigious ceremony and dinner at the Millennium Hotel, London Mayfair on Thursday 18th November.

Neil Lorimer, partner with Lanyon Bowdler Solicitors and winner of the 2009 Personal Injury Lawyer of the Year (Claimant) said; “I was delighted to win the Claimant Lawyer award last year. To receive such recognition by my peers really has been one of the highlights of my career.

“I would encourage anyone thinking about nominating to do so now – to acknowledge the outstanding work and high standards of practice that take place within our industry is vitally important, and it's a real boost for the winners and their firms.”

The award categories continue to reflect the breadth of services provided within the industry. Two new categories have been introduced for 2010: Practice Manager of the Year to acknowledge the vital support provided by practice and office managers, and members of barristers' chambers' clerking teams; and the Associated Industries Award which is open to anyone who provides services tailored to meet the needs of professionals working in the personal injury and medico-legal sectors.

Laura Callicott of event organisers Barker Brooks Media, commented: “Over the past two years we have received fantastic support from all areas of the industry and this year we really wanted to increase the reach of the awards to encompass some of the more peripheral but equally important services – reflecting the way in which the sector really does pull together. The industry continues to be its own task-master and the achievements of the past 12 months are to be applauded.”

Nominations are invited in 15 categories: Claimant Personal Injury Lawyer of the Year; Defendant Personal Injury Lawyer of the Year; Claimant Personal Injury Team of the Year; Defendant Personal Injury Team of the Year; Mediation Achiever of the Year; Barrister of the Year; Barristers’ Chambers of the Year; Rehab Provider of the Year; Young Achiever of the Year; Outstanding Case of the Year; Claims Management Company of the Year; Medical Agency of the Year; Insurance Provider of the Year, Practice Manager of the Year and the Associated Industries Award. In addition, an award for Outstanding Achievement will be presented at the discretion of the judges to either an individual or an organisation.
